Staff Accountant

Overview

This remote Staff Accountant role focuses on analyzing revenue and expense accounts, preparing variance reports, and supporting overall operating plans. The position includes maintaining finance reporting across business areas, assisting with weekly projections, and contributing to annual budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring, and creating financial models for decision support across revenue, expense, and strategic objectives
• Improve financial performance by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management
• Support weekly budgeting and annual budgeting processes
• Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results against plans and forecasts
• Provide trends and forecasts
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools
• Establish and maintain relationships across divisions
• Work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM financial reporting
• Support forecasting and modeling activities using a strong foundation in financial analysis

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis, and the ability to build models
• Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
  • Advanced lookup functions (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH)
  • Conditional logic (IF, IFS, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS)
  • Dynamic cell linking
• Strong financial modeling experience
• Extensive understanding of financial processes, systems, and controls, including responsibility for documenting processes
• Ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects
• Outstanding communication skills (written and spoken)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
• Two (2) years of directly related experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70.000 - $90.000
• Pay is based on factors including geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, and certifications.
• Benefits (eligibility-based): medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, paid time off, and select paid holidays.

Location

Although this is a remote role, candidates must reside in CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, OH, OK, PA, or TX.

• Travel: 10-25% (travel to Denver)
