Staff Accountant

Overview

This remote Staff Accountant role supports the organization’s operating plans by analyzing revenue and expense accounts, preparing variance reports, and contributing to weekly projections and annual budgets.

Candidates must reside in CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, OH, OK, PA, or TX.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data by collecting, monitoring, and creating financial models to support decision-making for revenue, expenses, and strategic objectives
• Improve financial performance by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management
• Support weekly budgeting and annual budgeting processes
• Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results against plans and forecasts
• Provide trends and forecasts
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting and forecasting tools
• Build and maintain relationships across multiple divisions
• Work with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM financial reporting
• Support forecasting and modeling with a strong foundation in financial analysis

Requirements

• Strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative), including building models
• Self-starter who can streamline functions
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced lookup functions (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH), conditional logic (IF, IFS, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS), and dynamic cell linking
• Strong financial modeling experience
• Extensive understanding of financial processes, systems, and controls, including responsibility for documenting processes
• Ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision and manage multiple projects
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and spoken
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
• Two (2) years of directly related experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Oracle SmartView and Oracle Cloud EPM financial reporting

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000
• Pay is based on factors including geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, and certifications.
• Eligible benefits may include medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, paid time off, and select paid holidays (benefits are based on eligibility).

Location

• Remote, with candidate residency required in: CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, OH, OK, PA, or TX
• Travel requirement: 10–25%, including travel to Denver
