Supervisor - Accounts Payable

Overview

This role manages and oversees the accounts payable function within the organization, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments. The position leads an accounts payable team and collaborates with other departments to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and support financial reporting requirements while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily accounts payable activities to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Review and approve payment batches, expense reports, and vendor reconciliations to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, and other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries.
• Prepare and maintain reports related to accounts payable metrics, aging, and cash flow forecasting.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate accounts payable staff to support professional development and high performance.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and audit support.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required (can be substituted for experience).
• 5–7 years of relevant work experience required (8–11 years preferred).
• Ability to plan and arrange own work and the team’s work, referring only unusual cases to a manager and others.

• 8–11 years of relevant work experience.
