Overview
An independent wealth management firm is seeking a Tax Consultant to provide integrated tax planning and advisory services. This seasonal, full-time role runs from January to April 2027, with potential for part-time work after tax season. The position is available on-site or remote.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review proforma and finalized tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and S & C corporations under guidance
- Assist in preparing amended tax returns
- Support review and response to tax notices
- Develop tax projections
- Review and interpret federal, state, and local tax regulations relevant to clients
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns
- Assist clients with estimated tax payments, IRS correspondence, and audit support
- Serve as in-house tax resource for advisors and investment professionals
- Participate in client meetings to explain tax implications of investment and planning decisions
- Contribute to internal training on tax-related topics
- Stay current on tax law changes and assess impact on client strategies
- Develop and maintain tax planning tools, templates, and best practices
- Contribute to white papers, newsletters, and client education materials on tax topics
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax planning and compliance, preferably in wealth management or advisory setting
- Strong knowledge of individual, trust, and small business taxation
- Proficiency in tax software and financial planning tools
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $38.00 to $50.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Salary grade range: $57,750 - $126,000
