Accounting Consultant II

Overview

A well-established organization is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Consultant II to join their finance team. This role involves delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting complex accounting processes, and ensuring the integrity of financial results across multiple entities. The position offers broad exposure across business units and finance functions, involvement in dynamic projects, and opportunities to deepen understanding of financial statement interconnections within a complex organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support financial statements (GAAP and statutory), including related schedules and disclosures
• Perform financial consolidations, ensuring accuracy and proper elimination of intercompany transactions
• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity, ensuring transactions are recorded appropriately
• Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and variance explanations to support the monthly close
• Execute and review account reconciliations, including those involving complex accounting processes
• Validate system functionality and ensure accounting rules and processes operate correctly
• Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights
• Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple finance teams and business units
• Contribute to and lead process improvement and transformation initiatives

Requirements

• CPA or CPA-eligible (actively pursuing or completed educational requirements)
• Experience with financial reporting and general ledger accounting
• Strong understanding of how financial statements are constructed and interrelated
• Knowledge of accounting principles and transaction flows
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Consolidations experience in a multi-entity environment
• Experience working in a complex or large-scale organization

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary range: $53,500.00 - $84,625.00, based on experience and qualifications

Location & Work Environment

• A dedicated, private workspace is required
• Reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload is necessary
