Overview
This role is for an entry-level Financial Analyst. The position is remote within the United States and is full-time.
Annual base salary range: $65,000–$85,000 USD.
The role involves supporting budgeting, expense analysis, and financial reporting with a careful, organized approach to assigned work. Relevant projects and study can be used to demonstrate your skills—prior full-time analyst experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Compare actual revenue and expenses with budgeted amounts and summarize significant differences.
- Assist with recurring financial reports, including checking formulas and supporting schedules.
- Trace unusual figures back to supporting records and raise unresolved differences for review.
- Keep supporting files and model assumptions organized so colleagues can follow calculations.
- Compile financial information from approved sources and check it for completeness and consistency.
- Maintain budget and forecast schedules, recording the assumptions used in each update.
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of accounting concepts and how income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements relate.
- Familiarity with Excel formulas, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
- Ability to work carefully with numerical information and explain calculations.
- Good organization, written communication, and attention to deadlines.
- Understanding of the importance of handling financial information confidentially.
Relevant study in finance, accounting, economics, or a related subject is helpful. Academic budgeting and financial modeling projects are useful examples of skills.
