Overview
This Financial Analyst role serves a dual purpose: (1) ministry-wide financial reporting leadership and (2) trusted financial business partnership to assigned departments. Responsibilities include delivering timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting that helps ministry leadership understand organizational performance, while also providing financial analysis, planning, and decision support to department leaders.
A primary focus is leading the preparation, analysis, and communication of monthly financial results across the ministry, including executive-level reporting tools such as reports, dashboards, presentations, and variance analyses. In the business partner capacity, the role involves building relationships with department leaders and advising on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, including the financial implications of business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and uphold ministry expectations, including a consistent, courteous, Christ-like attitude; faithfully support the ministry through prayer; and act in a manner consistent with the organization’s child protection and conduct expectations.
- Act as an advocate for children by prioritizing child protection considerations in all decisions, tasks, and activities; report concerns of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children through the organization’s internal reporting process; and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
- Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for ministry and departmental leadership, including:
- Financial results
- Operational metrics
- Staffing and compensation
- Capital expenditures
- Other ad-hoc reporting as needed
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial reporting and related data.
- Lead the annual budget and mid-year forecasting processes for assigned business functions, including gathering inputs, evaluating assumptions, analyzing data, and preparing recommendations for review and approval.
- Serve as the primary finance business partner for assigned business functions by providing financial insight and decision support, helping leaders understand the financial impact of key decisions while promoting financial stewardship and accountability.
- Collaborate with the Financial Systems Team to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of Adaptive Planning and Office Connect data and reporting, including report development, data validation, system testing, and process improvements.
- Research and stay abreast of economic trends and apply this knowledge to ongoing projects, processes, and updates to management and colleagues to support successful and effective financial planning.
- Partner with users across the ministry to develop, publish, and enhance reporting solutions that support effective decision-making; deliver reporting and analytics with a high degree of accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and customer focus.
- Conduct financial analysis projects, including building financial models for “what if” scenarios to support future planning decisions.
- Evaluate and analyze topics such as capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, operating records, and financial statements.
- May coach other financial analysts and related staff on technical finance issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field.
- 7+ years of relevant finance experience in a corporate environment.
- Experience preparing executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations that translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Experience serving as a financial business partner to department leaders across budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, performance analysis, and strategic planning.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and stakeholders while managing competing priorities.
- Strong systems acumen with the ability to leverage planning and reporting tools effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and quality while managing complex datasets and reporting requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Compensation & Benefits
- Expected salary range: $80,170.00 - $94,197.40.
- Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential.
