The position involves preparing accurate financial schedules and providing clear explanations of results so colleagues can review and use the information in their work.
Responsibilities
- Compile financial information from approved sources and verify completeness and consistency.
- Maintain budget and forecast schedules, documenting the assumptions used in each update.
- Compare actual revenue and expenses against budgeted amounts and summarize significant differences.
- Assist with recurring financial reports, including reviewing formulas and supporting schedules.
- Investigate unusual figures by tracing them back to supporting records and escalate any unresolved differences for review.
- Keep supporting files and model assumptions organized so colleagues can follow the calculations.
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of accounting concepts, including how income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements relate.
- Familiarity with Excel formulas, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
- Ability to work carefully with numerical information and explain calculations.
- Strong organization, written communication, and attention to deadlines.
- Understanding of the importance of handling financial information confidentially.
Relevant coursework or projects in finance, accounting, economics, or a related subject are helpful. Coursework, internships, and relevant projects can demonstrate readiness without previous full-time analyst employment.

- Experience demonstrating skills through academic budgeting and financial modeling projects.
