Overview
This entry-level Financial Analyst role is remote and based in the United States. The position is full-time.
Annual base salary range: $60,000–$80,000 USD.
In this role, you will support budgeting, expense analysis, and financial reporting. Your work helps colleagues rely on accurate financial schedules and clear explanations of results when reviewing information and planning next steps. Relevant projects and study are welcome as evidence of your skills—prior full-time analyst experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Update budget and forecast worksheets using documented assumptions.
- Prepare actual-versus-budget comparisons and explain material differences in revenue or spending.
- Support periodic financial reporting by reviewing spreadsheet formulas and the schedules behind reported figures.
- Help investigate discrepancies by tracing figures to their source and requesting clarification.
- Keep supporting files and model assumptions organized so colleagues can follow your calculations.
- Gather figures from approved records and review them for missing information or inconsistencies.
Requirements
- Foundational knowledge of accounting concepts and the relationship between income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements.
- Familiarity with Excel formulas, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
- Ability to work carefully with numerical information and explain calculations.
- Good organization, written communication, and attention to deadlines.
- Understanding of the importance of handling financial information confidentially.
Relevant study in finance, accounting, economics, or a related subject is helpful. Academic budgeting and financial modeling projects are useful examples of your skills.
