Responsibilities

  • Investigate discrepancies by tracing figures to their source and requesting clarification as needed.
  • Maintain organized supporting files and documented model assumptions so calculations are easy for others to follow.
  • Compile financial information from approved sources and verify completeness and consistency.
  • Update budget and forecast worksheets using documented assumptions.
  • Compare actual revenue and expenses with budgeted amounts and summarize significant differences.
  • Support periodic financial reporting by reviewing spreadsheet formulas and the schedules behind reported figures.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of accounting concepts and how income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements relate.
  • Familiarity with Excel formulas, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
  • Ability to work carefully with numerical information and explain calculations clearly.
  • Strong organization, written communication, and attention to deadlines.
  • Understanding of the importance of handling financial information confidentially.

Relevant academic study in finance, accounting, economics, or a related subject is helpful. Academic budgeting and financial modeling projects (or similar work) can demonstrate required skills. Prior full-time analyst employment is not a requirement.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary range: $60,000-$75,000 USD
