Overview

This entry-level Financial Analyst role is a full-time position based in the United States with a remote work arrangement.

The position offers an annual base salary of $75,000–$85,000 USD.

In this role, you will assist with budgeting, expense analysis, and financial reporting. Work will involve maintaining clear, organized documentation of calculations and assumptions, and helping translate financial movement into understandable explanations.

Responsibilities

  • Compare actual revenue and expenses with budgeted amounts and summarize significant variances.
  • Support periodic financial reporting by reviewing spreadsheet formulas and the schedules behind reported figures.
  • Trace unusual figures back to supporting records and escalate unresolved differences for review.
  • Keep supporting files and model assumptions organized so colleagues can follow calculations.
  • Compile financial information from approved sources and verify completeness and consistency.
  • Maintain budget and forecast schedules, documenting the assumptions used in each update.

Requirements

  • Foundational knowledge of accounting concepts and the relationship between income statements, balance sheets, and cash-flow statements.
  • Familiarity with Excel formulas, lookup functions, and pivot tables.
  • Ability to work carefully with numerical information and explain calculations.
  • Strong organization, written communication skills, and attention to deadlines.
  • Understanding of the importance of handling financial information confidentially.
  • Relevant study in finance, accounting, economics, or a related subject is helpful.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant coursework, projects, or internships demonstrating a foundation for budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Academic budgeting and financial modeling projects.
