Overview

This role involves serving as a Senior Staff Accountant for a high-volume accounting team focused on month-end close and general ledger accuracy. Responsibilities include maintaining control and accountability of balance sheet accounts in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), performing detailed account analysis, and resolving discrepancies during the close process.

Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of journal entries, accruals, and reclasses
  • Prepare account reconciliations and support variance analysis
  • Research and resolve issues that arise during the month-end close process
  • Take ownership of balance sheet accounts and ensure timely, accurate processing
  • Prepare detailed reports and financial statement analyses reflecting financial status and activities
  • Manage multiple deadlines while working independently and collaborating with the accounting team
  • Assist with training or supervising staff accounting personnel (as needed)
  • Ensure timely accurate processing of account reconciliations, billings, disbursement requests, and analyses for assigned areas

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of related experience
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to apply accounting principles to complex transactions
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to keep work moving in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licenses/Certifications: CPA, CIA or CMA designation preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate complex accounting principles
  • Fixed asset experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $66,123.20 to $89,481.60 per year
  • Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
