Overview

This role is responsible for owning the revenue model and forecasting for an agricultural labor technology platform. Finance is central to how contracts translate into invoices, cash, and reported revenue. The position is hands-on and designed for a self-starter who prefers building tools and improving processes rather than repeating manual tasks.

You will report to the Controller and work daily across functions. The organization uses AI across many workflows and is looking for someone who will expand its use further.

  • Own the revenue model by product line, pulling actuals from the ERP and reconciling them monthly.
  • Develop the initial yearly forecast and maintain model updates with actuals and scenario changes; present results and drivers to the Controller.
  • Update the bookings plan against actuals and partner with RevOps on ARR / revenue run-rate reporting.

Revenue reporting

  • Own monthly revenue reporting and revenue Budget vs. Actuals, including variance commentary for finance and leadership.
  • Reconcile the revenue model, QBO, and billing data; investigate and resolve discrepancies until they tie.
  • Manage revenue reporting in Aleph, ensuring data connections, reports, and dashboards remain accurate and up to date.

Automation and AI

  • Use AI to build, update, and stress-test the revenue model by pulling and cleaning actuals, writing formulas and logic, and running scenarios faster.
  • Automate the monthly refresh so actuals flow into the model and reports with minimal manual work.
  • Use AI to analyze variances and draft commentary explaining the drivers behind the numbers.
  • Partner with FP&A platform providers to move the model onto automated, connected data.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in and practical use of AI. Demonstrated daily use of tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to build models, write formulas and scripts, analyze data, and automate workflows.
  • Self-starter who can take a vague problem, identify needed inputs, and drive work to completion; flags issues early with proposed fixes.
  • Finance and modeling experience:
    • 3+ years in FP&A, finance, investment banking, consulting, or a similar analytical role.
    • Experience building driver-based forecasts and scenario models in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to explain the story behind the numbers.
  • Basic accounting knowledge, including understanding:
    • The three financial statements
    • Accruals
    • Revenue recognition basics
    • How a month-end close works
    • CPA not required.
  • Detail orientation and strong ownership (e.g., insist on tying figures that are off by $3K).
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain forecasts to leadership and invoicing exceptions in plain language.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a SaaS or tech-enabled services company, especially with ARR, bookings, and revenue run-rate metrics, and/or experience in Agriculture.
