Overview
This is a fully remote role with an organization in the fintech industry focused on building a comprehensive finance stack for startups. The organization simplifies and secures banking experiences for entrepreneurs and business owners by integrating banking partners, internal systems, and payment rails—placing particular emphasis on financial data reconciliation to ensure accurate tracking of transactions and protection of customer funds.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end reconciliations for products and funds flows, establishing standards for the team
- Develop and maintain data transformations, enrichment logic, and matching rules for scalable reconciliation
- Monitor and investigate reconciliation exceptions, lead root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolutions
- Build monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools to identify reconciliation risks and improvement opportunities
- Define reconciliation requirements and technical specifications in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Data, and Finance teams
- Support month-end close and audit readiness with reconciliation analyses and documentation
- Lead reconciliation control initiatives and represent the team in cross-functional efforts as complexity grows
- Mentor analysts to enhance their technical and investigative skills
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with complex transactional and financial data in fintech or financial services
- Knowledge of banking payment rails and card networks, including ACH, wire transfers, RTP, FedNow, Visa, and Mastercard
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with data transformation pipelines (e.g., dbt or similar)
- Strong analytical skills for investigating and resolving financial data discrepancies
- Familiarity with reconciliation or matching tools (e.g., Blackline)
- Experience building operational and financial dashboards using tools like Omni, Looker, or Tableau
- Proven leadership in cross-functional initiatives and stakeholder alignment
- Experience mentoring analysts
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory reporting, or financial-control testing
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary + equity (stock options/RSUs) + benefits
- Target base salary ranges:
- US employees in NYC, Los Angeles, Seattle, or San Francisco Bay Area: $171,000—$213,700 USD
- US employees outside these areas: $153,900—$192,300 USD
- Canadian employees (any location): $161,600—$209,900 CAD
