Overview
This is an individual contributor role based remotely in North America.
A Senior Director within the Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group serves as a credible voice in their designated market at local, regional, and global levels. This role involves producing pragmatic and provocative insights that clients use to advance their business objectives. The Senior Director acts as a trusted advisor, engaging clients through in-person and virtual meetings, sales support visits, and conferences to address complex challenges and provide recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Create innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged "must-have insights" content.
- Develop new insights and ideas through thought leadership, offering actionable approaches to client needs that accelerate their ability to act.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client barriers or needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward.
- Demonstrate thought leadership by establishing insights positions across a team of analysts.
- Provide provocative, independent insights to leadership that can influence research agendas.
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts to deliver actionable insights to clients and vendors.
- Offer clients and prospects actionable advice aligned with their content area via virtual or face-to-face interactions.
- Create and deliver high-value presentations for events, industry conferences, and client briefings.
- Support BTI and Sales by serving as the voice of the market to help create content and drive client engagement.
- Provide high-quality and timely peer review of content.
- Build credibility as an industry expert representing insights, methodology, and strategy.
- Participate actively in innovation, ideation, and research discussions; collaborate effectively with peers.
- Identify and develop research process improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Maintain a client-centric approach, encouraging regular engagement with insights and interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience working in a finance function, ideally with 2+ years of recent AI experience.
- Career exposure in strategic finance or special projects with the CFO, involving finance processes, workflows, data sources, and technologies.
- Provocative and forward-looking perspectives on how AI and emerging technology trends are reshaping finance functions and their future enterprise roles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate ambiguity into clear narratives that prompt CFO action.
- Executive presence with the ability to establish credibility immediately with executives and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills; able to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Excellence in research and writing.
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills; able to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
- Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; able to apply patterns and frameworks and defend conclusions.
- Strong communication skills; able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply.
- Subject matter expertise; comfortable presenting at both large and small-scale speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural global team.
- Learning agility and adeptness at navigating highly matrixed environments.
- Ability to represent research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated base salary range: $172,000 - $202,500 USD. Actual salary may vary based on education, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
