Overview
This role supports investment data governance and operational controls across accounting systems. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate security master data, performing complex reconciliations, resolving data issues, and partnering across teams to help ensure reliable accounting, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead analysis of new security master files and new purchase yields; work with external managers to explain and resolve issues.
- Oversee security master file setup and maintenance, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with data governance standards.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve complex discrepancies in security master data, income accrual, and amortization/accretion schedules; escalate unresolved issues as appropriate.
- Assist with resolution of reconciliation exceptions by collaborating with internal teams including accounting, reporting, technology, policy, and portfolio management.
- Research and collaborate with internal and external partners on specific accounting and reporting guidance (e.g., Principal Based Bonds).
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for primary investment data (e.g., payment structure, NAIC reporting categories) and PAM® for Investments (PFI) functionality (e.g., SMF field downstream impacts, report design, asset type—specific functions).
- Maintain knowledge of accounting principles, regulatory requirements, industry developments, and operational workflows impacting insurance company portfolios.
- Take a lead role in user acceptance testing (UAT) for PFI system enhancements, data feeds, and reconciliation tools.
- Document and review procedures and training aides for operational continuity and team development.
- Assist in preparing internal reports or summaries on reconciliation status, trends, and recurring issues for team leads or management.
- Participate in other initiatives and/or projects as necessary.
Requirements

- This role will be subject to a SEC compliance program, which can include monitoring personal securities transactions, restrictions on outside business activities, and other oversight and restrictions.

Qualifications
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to take data from several sources and organize, validate, and analyze it.
- Excellent attention to detail, self-initiative, and team player.
- Strong systems background with ability to quickly learn and understand systems.
- Intellectually curious nature and positive attitude toward learning new or complex topics.
- Excellent ability to work collaboratively within and outside of the organization.
- Superior time management skills with ability to successfully manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with AI-based solutions or automation tools.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in investment operations, investment accounting, or similar field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in PAM® for Investments (PFI).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD $61,622.00 - USD $115,540.00 /Yr.
- Range includes data points from multiple labor markets. Specific range depends on the labor market where the incumbent will be hired.
