Overview

This role is a hands-on treasury position focused on liquidity execution and cash management across multiple banks, liquidity providers, and offshore accounts. Responsibilities include ensuring liquidity is available in the right currencies to support payouts, settlements, and trades without delays.

The role reports to the Head of Liquidity & Custody and works closely with the team’s Senior Liquidity and Pricing Specialist, which owns rate-setting and forecasting. This position owns execution—getting funds where they need to be, accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

Liquidity & Cash Management

  • Execute offshore and local fund movements between banks and liquidity providers to keep accounts funded for USD, EUR, GBP and other local-currency payouts.
  • Monitor account balances daily across banks and liquidity providers and proactively top up accounts rather than waiting for payments to be blocked.
  • Initiate wires, ACH, and SWIFT transfers across banking partners within approval limits.
  • Trade with liquidity providers to convert stablecoin to fiat (and fiat to stablecoin) to rebalance exposure and fund payouts, locking rates directly with liquidity provider trading desks where needed.
  • Assist with liquidity movements, planning and projections, and management of capital cycles and repayments.

Banking & Liquidity Partner Relationships

  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for liquidity providers and banking partners across African markets, the US, the UK and EU.
  • Coordinate wallet whitelisting and clean-up with liquidity providers when banking or wallet infrastructure changes.
  • Monitor counterparty exposure and settlement risk on liquidity partners, and escalate access, settlement, or counterparty issues promptly.

Settlement, Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Reconcile liquidity provider and bank statements against internal records to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks and balance discrepancies, including trades executed directly with liquidity providers outside of standard portal statements.
  • Collect and maintain monthly liquidity provider statements to support month-end close.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all fund movements and payment transactions.
  • Support treasury risk reporting by generating treasury dashboards covering liquidity.

Ad Hoc & Cross-Functional Support

  • Process and review customer refunds.
  • Support funding approvals for opex and payroll liquidity needs.
  • Partner with Finance, Compliance, and Product/Engineering on liquidity-impacting issues, incidents, or new market and product launches.
  • Document processes and cross-train with other members of the Liquidity team to ensure day-to-day execution is not dependent on a single person.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in treasury or liquidity operations at a crypto exchange, stablecoin/fintech company, or financial institution; able to step directly into daily execution with minimal ramp-up.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated multi-market liquidity experience moving fiat and crypto/stablecoin liquidity across multiple banks, liquidity providers, and markets, ideally including African corridors and multi-currency (USD, EUR, and GBP) environments.
  • Direct, hands-on experience initiating wire/ACH/SWIFT payments and executing spot FX or stablecoin conversions with liquidity provider trading desks.
  • Familiarity with crypto custody/settlement platforms and stablecoins (USDC, USDT).
  • Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work hours that align mainly with the US business day to provide coverage during the after-hours window.
  • Ability to work calmly and quickly under time pressure to resolve urgent liquidity shortfalls.
  • Self-starter with high integrity; comfortable operating with real financial authority and a degree of autonomy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (CA(SA), CIMA/CGMA, CFA).
  • Exposure to treasury management systems or reconciliation automation tools.
  • General familiarity with the regulatory environment crypto-asset service providers operate in.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful health coverage.
  • All full-time employees participate in the stock option plan.
  • Mental health support services.

Location

  • Remote-first.
  • Hours must align mainly with the US business day to provide coverage during the after-hours window.
